Host with Webrio is a monthly retainer. We build your site, host it on our infrastructure, and handle all ongoing maintenance. No build fee, no surprises. Just a monthly payment and a site that works. Design Only is a once-off project. We build the site, hand over all code and credentials, and you manage hosting yourself. It suits businesses that already have hosting or prefer to own everything outright.

A static website is built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that don't change. Instead of pulling content from a database every time someone visits, static sites serve the same files to every user. This makes them faster, more secure, and easier to maintain than database-driven sites.

WordPress sites require a database, plugins, and constant updates. Each update introduces potential security vulnerabilities. Static sites eliminate these risks entirely. They're also significantly faster (no database queries), cheaper to host (no server overhead), and require zero maintenance after launch.

Typically 2–4 weeks from brief to live site. Timeline depends on content readiness and revision rounds. We build on a private staging link, you review and request changes, then we go live once payment is confirmed.

No. We specialise exclusively in static website design for businesses that don't need WordPress complexity. If you need a blog, custom functionality, or database-driven features, WordPress is appropriate, but we recommend a specialised WordPress host for that.

POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) is South African privacy law. Webrio is POPIA-compliant by design: we don't store visitor data, don't use tracking cookies without consent, and provide optional privacy policy pages. This means you're protected from the start.

Yes. Content changes (text, images) are charged per request, with 2 rounds included free at launch. Structural changes (new sections, layout changes) are charged at an hourly rate. All change requests must be submitted in writing via email. See our Packages page for current rates.

Your domain is always registered in your name and is yours from day one, provided any domain registration fees paid by Webrio on your behalf are settled. For Design Only clients, full code ownership transfers on delivery once final payment is cleared. For Host with Webrio clients, the website code remains Webrio's during your minimum term. Full code ownership transfers when your minimum term is complete or when you pay the buyout fee. If you ever leave, we hand over everything you are entitled to once your account is settled.

For Design Only clients, we hand over all source files and credentials once final payment is cleared. You can host the site anywhere. For Host with Webrio clients, your site files are held by Webrio during your minimum term. Once your minimum term is complete or your buyout is settled, we transfer everything within 7 business days. We use modern, standard web technologies. Your site is fully portable with no proprietary platforms.

We set up professional email on your domain. You can choose from Zoho Free (basic), Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365. We configure all DNS records (SPF, DKIM, MX) so it just works out of the box.

Webrio is based in Cape Town, South Africa. We work with clients across South Africa and internationally. All projects are managed via email.

Failure to pay by the due date without prior written communication is treated as a cancellation notice effective from the due date. Prior written communication must include a specific confirmed payment date. A 48-hour grace period applies for genuine processing delays. If payment is not received within 48 hours without a confirmed payment date provided in writing, the 30-day cancellation timeline begins automatically.

All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT. Webrio is not currently VAT registered so no VAT applies. If Webrio becomes VAT registered during your agreement you will receive 30 days written notice before VAT is added to invoices.

Email only. All instructions, requests, approvals, changes, and notices must be submitted in writing to hello@webrio.co.za. Requests made via any other channel are non-binding and will not be actioned.

Files and credentials are released within 5 working days of the full balance reflecting as cleared in Webrio's nominated bank account with the correct payment reference. Proof of payment alone does not trigger handover. Once cleared funds are confirmed, handover is completed within 5 working days.
